Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

Your retirement planning information deserves careful handling. This policy describes what information is processed, why it is used and the choices available to you.

1. About this policy

This policy explains how RetireSmartCA handles personal information in connection with its website, retirement calculators, saved scenarios and related services. It does not cover websites operated by other organizations that we link to.

2. Information we handle

Account information may include your name, email address, account identifier, sign-in provider and account role. Authentication services also process the credentials and verification information needed to sign you in.

When you save a retirement scenario, we store its title, inputs, calculated summary and associated account information. Inputs may include ages, province, pension amounts, income, spending, balances and investment assumptions. You can use hypothetical figures; do not enter Social Insurance Numbers, bank login credentials, account numbers or other unnecessary identifiers.

We receive the name, email address and message you choose to send through the contact page. The contact form opens your email application, so your email provider also processes that message.

Hosting, security and analytics services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, page visits, timestamps, referral information and service errors.

3. How information is used

We use information to provide calculations and saved scenarios, administer accounts, deliver verification and account messages, respond to requests, protect against misuse, maintain and troubleshoot the service, understand site usage and meet applicable legal obligations. Providing information for optional features is voluntary, but those features may not work without it.

4. Cookies, browser storage and analytics

The site uses browser storage for sign-in and certain planning drafts or transfers between tools. Some calculations run in your browser; saved scenarios are stored through our service provider. Clearing browser storage can remove local drafts or sign you out, but does not delete server-stored scenarios.

This site includes Google Analytics to help measure visits and usage. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers and process usage and device information. Read Google’s privacy policy for details.

You can manage cookies and storage in your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported. Blocking storage may affect sign-in or other features. These controls do not erase information already collected.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We use Base44 for app hosting, authentication, data storage and related functionality, and Google Analytics for site measurement. Email, infrastructure and support providers may process information as needed to deliver these services. If you choose a third-party sign-in method, that provider also processes information under its own terms.

Optional web-assisted features, such as fund-fee lookup, send the submitted query to services used to retrieve or generate a response. Avoid putting personal or confidential information into these queries.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to address fraud or security threats, to protect legal rights, with your authorization, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable privacy requirements.

6. Processing locations and security

Service providers may process or store information outside your province or Canada, where local laws may permit access by public authorities. We use access controls and service-provider safeguards to help protect information, but no online system can guarantee complete security. Keep your login credentials and verification codes private, and sign out on shared devices.

7. Retention and deletion

Information is retained for the purposes described here, including account operation, security, legal requirements and resolving disputes. You can delete saved scenarios using the available scenario controls. For account deletion or other information-removal requests, contact us. Deletion may be subject to identity verification, legal obligations and limited retention in security records or provider backups; it may not remove every copy immediately.

8. Your choices and privacy requests

Depending on applicable Canadian federal or provincial privacy law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, obtain information about its handling, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawing consent may limit services we can provide. Use the contact page for privacy questions, requests or complaints. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Do not send passwords or verification codes. You may also contact the applicable privacy regulator.

9. Children’s information

The service is intended for adults planning their finances and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

10. Policy updates and contact

We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version; material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law. Direct questions about this policy to RetireSmartCA through the contact page.
